Final report submitted by Dr. Leke on study of hospitals admissions for abortion complications, costs and consequences of induced aborting. The majority of cases are single young women, most of whom are students. All hospitalized cases suffered infection. 2% had used contraception, and for the most part, partners were not consulted in abortion decision making. Recommendations include services for incomplete abortion and review of restrictive laws. Prospects for publication will be discussed during October-November visit by Irvin and Jiggins.
