Germain reviewed in January two projects with which IWHC might collaborate, or which the MacArthur Foundation might fund: SEARCH (Society for Education, Action and Research in Community Health), in drought-prone central India, which is doing pioneering work in rural women's health, including M.R., gynecological disease, and violence: and Parivar Seva Sangstha (originally Marie Stopes' clinics) which runs 24 urban abortion and reproductive health clinics throughout India. Further development depends on program decisions by the MacArthur Foundation.
