Two travel grants totalling $2000 awarded to Dr. S. Sarsanto and Ms. N. Widyantoro (Director and Asst. Director of IPPA project) to present their research findings at Rockefeller-funded Symposium on Social, and Cultural and Behavioral Factors affecting Health in Australia, May 1989. Research involved medical techniques and pain management in late first-trimester abortions, and counselling of unmarried clients. Dr. Sarsanto and Ms. Widyantoro also visited a progressive reproductive health clinic in Sydney.
