Final report submitted by Dr. Leke on study of hospital admissions for abortion complications, cost and consequences of induced abortion under review for possible publication. The majority of cases are single young women, most of whom are students; all hospitalized cases suffered infections; 2% had used contraception; and for the most part, partners were not consulted in abortion decision making. Recommendations include services for incomplete abortion and review of restrictive laws.
