Building on small grants in FY 1987, and FY 1988 one-year core support grant ($22,308) made in February 1988, second core support grant for $20,000 made in April for staff training in Colombia, clinic services and equipment. AVESA has raised $25,000 of $100,000 needed to purchase building. IWHC staff have assisted Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation to approve $30,000 (contingent on AVESA raising $100,000 total). Staff raising funds for a $20,000 contribution from IWHC and will assist AVESA to identify sources for remaining $25,000.
